Every year to mark International  Women's Day we hold the Asian Women's film festival at the India International Centre(IIC), New Delhi, where films made by women of Asian origin are screened.Films which help us understand our lives and times.
Over the years the festival has grown from its humble beginnings in strength and popularity with many filmmakers from across the world participating to show their works.The festival also now travels to cities across India regularly. Specially curated packages from the festival have gone to other festivals to other countries.

Since we love cinema of all kinds all kinds of films are welcome!

All genres – short fiction/fiction feature, non-fiction, animation, experimental and student films – are eligible

IAWRT Asian Women's Film Festival

The main activity of the chapter is to organise the annual IAWRT Asian Women's Film Festival held every year around International Women's Day in New Delhi. It showcases works by women directors of Asian origin ranging from animation, non-fiction, short/feature fiction, experimental and student films.

The festival was launced in 2005 and has grown in strength and popularity with film makers coming from all over the world to participate. The festival has travelled to many Indian cities and selections have been screened at other festivals like Birds Eye View Film Festival 2011, London, International Documentary and Short Film Festival of Kerala 2011 and Vasakh Festival, Lahore 2012.

 Subasri Krishnan is the Festival Director for the 2017 edition.


On popular demand, we are extending the call for entries to the 13th Asian Women's Film Festival to 10th November, 2016

The 13th IAWRT Asian Women's Film Festival will take place in New Delhi from 2-4 March, 2017 at the India International Centre. The festival will showcase the works of Asian women Directors living in any part of the world in different genres - animation, non-fiction, short fiction/feature fiction, experimental and student films. 

We seek to screen films that are diverse and creating narratives that reshape the way we imagine cinema to be. Like previous editions of the festival, apart from the general programme that will feature films selected through an open-call entry, there will be some curated sections and seminars. The festival will also feature the fourth edition of Soundphiles. 

Films made between 1st October 2014 - 31st October 2016 are eligible for entry. Please enter the film online to the festival by filling up the google form and submitting it ( on or before 10th November, 2016. For preview viewing, you can either submit an online link to the film (along with password)  or post two DVD copies to the address mentioned below. The entrant will also need to submit three high quality images from the film, and one photo of the Director. The online link of the film with password and publicity material can be sent to:
